At long last, a clean and finished piece of my age-old character, Lindel Draugelen. I was inspired to create this after my brother Coung gave the the Samurai X: Complete Collection for Christmas. I love the box art, and decided to emulate it. So, I drew both Lindel and the forest scene, photoshopped them up and put them together in a similar way to the box art.
I've had this character since seventh grade, when I first began playing Dungeons & Dragons, and he's gone through many evolutions.
His backstory is considerable, but the short version is that he is a member of a unique tribe/clan of elven shinobi who are a race of their own. The Star-Wolf, the god Draugelen, ordained the first of their race to be his people. Lindel is one of two remaining of his race, his whole clan having been betrayed and slaughtered from the inside when he was very young. Young Lindel buried his whole family and took on the mantle of clan-head, vowing his soul to vengeance. He spent 30 years training alone, honing every skill he could, feeding his rage. When his solo training ceased to be enough, he emerged from his family's forest and set out on a quest to learn all he could of combat and war, and to find his clan's betrayer.
Years later his demeanor would change, but at the time of this picture he is still in his vengeful state. Hence the angry-ness.
So, yeah. Textures from Image*After, done in pencil, pen, prismacolor, and lots of Photoshopping. Credit goes to for most of the inking; I touched it up after. Thanks man!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
